“I feel Robbins is a company that is always cutting edge, and looks to put premium product in place every time. If changes need to be made, they have no problem speaking with you and trying to improve processes and functions.”
As the industry’s most popular portable basketball surface, the All-Star Plus® portable with RapidLatch™ was a natural choice for the Charlotte Hornets and Spectrum Arena when replacing their previous Robbins floor — which they utilized for many years. As longtime Robbins clients with even the arena crew preferring the Robbins floors’ functionality, it was a no-brainer to purchase directly from Robbins again. Besides milling the wood and installing the 7,000-square-foot floor, Robbins created more than 250 stencils for its logo — taking three weeks to complete once laid down. The athletes have responded happily to their new competition surface, as have the setup crew: “The crew was able to place the floor down faster and incur less injuries during the process. The new system means the crew no longer needs bolts or pins,” said Tasheem Hayes in arena operations. He also added, “The floor has received great reviews from the staff and compliments from all the fans who come into the facility. I feel Robbins is a company that is always cutting edge, and looks to put premium product in place every time. If changes need to be made, they have no problem speaking with you and trying to improve processes and functions.”
Designed to enhance player safety, comfort and performance, the floor absorbs about 60% of an athlete’s energy impact to reduce wear, tear and general fatigue on bodies to reduce risk of injury. “I think it’s a very safe system for the athletes, and it’s a well-manufactured flooring system,” said Hayes.
Providing spectacular ball bounce, uniform shock absorption and consistent game play, it’s easy to see why the All-Star Plus is the choice of NBA champions. It’s designed and built to withstand constant changeovers while preserving its superior performance aspects and structural integrity. So, players remain at their best during serious competition.
Besides the Hornets, other NBA teams that have relied on Robbins portable competition floors for years include the LA Lakers, the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs. With such a pedigree, odds are you’ll get champs from using your Robbins floor system, too.
