Spurs turn up the “Heat” to win 5th NBA Championship on a Robbins floor

Congratulations to the San Antonio Spurs on winning a 5th NBA championship…and they did it all on a Robbins portable basketball floor! In a huge 104-87 win over the Miami Heat in Game 5 of the 2014 NBA finals, Tim San-Antonio-Spurs-9-2012-188x158Duncan and his dream team dominated the court, proving that old fashioned teamwork & perseverance is the key to winning. Known for his emphasis on developing a team and not just an individual, coach Popovich has won more playoff games with the “Big Three” trio (Duncan, Ginobili, & Parker) than any other team in NBA history. And to top it off, Forward Kawhi Leonard was named NBA Finals MVP, being the youngest Finals MVP since 1999, when teammate Tim Duncan won the award.

The San Antonio Spurs has been a longtime customer of Robbins. After winning their 1st NBA championship in 1999, the Spurs switched to a Robbins portable floor in 2000. And recently replaced the AT&T Center arena floor with a Robbins All Star Plus in 2012. Since 2000, they have won 4 additional championships, giving them the “highest winning percentage in major pro sports since 1997”.

Robbins is extremely proud of all the teams that train and compete on our floors. With 13 of the 16 playoff teams competing and/or training on a Robbins’ floor, including the San Antonio Spurs & Miami Heat, we knew the odds were in our favor that we’d be bringing home our 23rd champion in the past 27 years! We congratulate the San Antonio Spurs on a great season and much deserved championship title. Congratulations also go to the Miami Heat for a great season and playoff run.
