The Millwright is responsible for performing a variety of equipment and general building maintenance and repair functions related to the care of the Company’s facilities.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:  Include, but not limited, to the following.

  • Perform a wide variety of general building and maintenance repairs and services, such as installation, painting, cleaning, repairing and assembling
  • Perform welding (MIG & Stick), torching and fabricating as needed
  • Develop a list of resources and materials needed to complete assigned projects
  • Identify maintenance related issues, implement solutions
  • Maintain preventative maintenance records.
  • Ability to understand and follow LOTO procedures
  • Train and understand all manufacturing equipment at IFP Facility
  • Perform monthly safety inspections
  • Pressure Wash miscellaneous equipment
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to obtain a forklift / loader license and certification and operate as needed
  • Maintain preventative and general maintenance supplies / equipment
  • Ability to follow Preventative Maintenance program in place to grease, inspect, and maintain the machinery and building
  • Have detail to keep a clean and organized work area
  • Help out on projects when needed.
  • Possess knowledge of control wire circuits, pneumatics, hydraulics and basic electrical principals.
  • Ability to use powered hand tools correctly and safely
  • Maintain and repair air compressors
  • Possess the ability to thread pipe and repair air and hydraulic lines
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues
  • All other duties as assigned

  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  High School education or GED or equivalent and at least four years related experience and/or training in the maintenance field is expected.

Language skills: Ability to listen and/or read and comprehend simple instructions. Ability to communicate issues with others.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts of simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic algebra.

Reasoning skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to perform duties in an ever changing environment.

Computer Skills: Ability to be trained to operate a proprietary computer based operating system.  Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Word.

Other skills and abilities: Ability to operate general business office equipment such as copier, label maker, ect.  Able to read blue prints.  Ability to perform in a Team environment.

There will be wood dust, grease, and welding fumes in this job classification. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.  Physical demands include but are not limited to bending, squatting/kneeling, twisting, climbing, crawling, reaching, standing, walking and use of hand and foot controls.  Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 75 lbs frequently.  Must be able to operate hand tools, power tools, drives and forceful grip tools.
