Delivers New Portable Floor to Maine Red Claws

Cincinnati, OH, May 28, 2009 – Robbins just completed another new portable floor with Robbins’ unique Boston Square® pattern, this time for the newest addition to the NBA Development league. So new in fact, that the Maine Red Claws won’t find out which two NBA franchises they’ll be affiliated with until after the season. Jon Jennings, a partner in Maine Basketball, LLC and former Boston Celtics assistant coach, serves as the team’s president and general manager. “I’m excited to bring NBA D-League basketball to Portland,” said Jennings. “We’ve already established strong relationships with the people of this community, and we can’t wait to get underway next season. I know that this team will have a long and exciting future in Maine. Our new floor from Robbins will certainly be the centerpiece of the arena renovations we’re making and know that we made the right choice.”

Robbins has a rich history supplying portable and permanent floors to the NBA, WNBA, and NBA D- League, and is proud to have been chosen to supply Maine’s game floor and continue the tradition.

• 90% of all NBA franchises have competed or practiced on Robbins’ floors.

• More NBA and WNBA teams currently practice and compete on Robbins’ floors than all other suppliers combined.

• 18 of the past 22 NBA champions competed on a Robbins floor at the time of their championship.

The NBA Development League, founded in 2001, is the NBA’s official minor league and features 17 teams with direct affiliations to NBA teams. Eighty-four former NBA Development League players were on 2008-09 NBA end-of-season rosters, amounting to almost 20 percent of NBA players, and the league continues to develop coaches, referees, and front office staff for the NBA and its teams. In fostering the league’s connection to the community, its teams, players and staff promote youth basketball, support local needs and interests, and assist in educational development through NBA D-League Cares programs. The NBA D-League also advances the game of basketball as the research and development arm of the NBA.
