Chicago Bears' Brian Urlacher Gives Back

High School Alma Mater gets new Robbins Sports Floor

Cincinnati, OH, August 11, 2008 – Thanks in part to fundraising efforts by Brian Urlacher, renowned linebacker for the Chicago Bears, his high school alma mater in Lovington, New Mexico is getting a new Robbins® gym floor. A three-letter athlete in football, basketball and track & field, Lovington retired Urlacher’s #11 basketball jersey in 2001. In addition to helping raise funds for the new floor, Urlacher has donated weightlifting and football equipment and conducts a free football clinic in Lovington each summer. He is also well known for his charitable work on behalf of Special Olympics and Ronald McDonald House, and once won $47,000 for charity on The Wheel of Fortune.

After 51 years in service and aided by a leaky roof, the original Robbins floor had finally come to the end of its useful life and needed to be replaced. Lovington High School chose a Robbins high performance BioCushion® LP flooring system that was installed earlier this summer by Stout Hardwood Floor Company, Robbins’ Authorized Dealer in New Mexico. In addition to a great performing floor, Lovington chose Robbins® Boston Square® pattern for eye-popping good looks! With proper care, this floor should last another 50 years and might just outlast the building! The original floor was put to good use in the trophy room of former Lovington basketball coach and father of Urlacher’s high school teammate and current agent, Bryce Karger.
