Cincinnati Floor Company installs Robbins' Bio-Channel® Classic at University of Kentucky's Memorial Coliseum

July 26, 2007 – Traditions evolve over time and major college basketball at the University of Kentucky is no stranger to tradition. At the University of Kentucky Wildcats’ Memorial Coliseum, nicknamed “The House that Rupp Built”, a new tradition began with the recently completed replacement of the 57 year old maple floor. During the 24 years that the historic coliseum housed the renowned Kentucky Wildcats men’s team, they won two national championships and 24 Southeastern Conference titles. Coaching these championship teams were the legendary Adolph Rupp and Joe B. Hall. When the men moved downtown to Rupp Arena in 1976, the Coliseum became the exclusive home for the women’s basketball team, as well as, volleyball matches, gymnastics meets and the site for the Wildcats' annual Midnight Madness Basketball Practice. It has also served as the site for other sporting events, including tennis exhibitions and high school tournaments, and has served as a site for lectures, concerts and graduations. After exhaustive review and research, Kentucky chose Robbins® Bio-Channel® Classic to replace the current maple floor at Memorial Coliseum. Like the old adage, “winners attract winners,” the University chose a floor that has a winning record at other major college basketball programs like the one at UK.
