Robbins chosen for prominent China National Games & Olympic Training Centre

February 23, 2006 – When it came time to select the sports flooring for the most important sporting event in China, the China National Games, officials chose Robbins. Why? Quite simply because their choice was easy – with 19 NBA competition floors, 17 NBA practice floors, plus 9 of 13 WNBA teams, and countless top NCAA programs playing and practicing on Robbins’ courts, no one can match Robbins’ history of outfitting the best! The China National Games has been celebrated every four years for the last 40 years. The 10th National Games, organized by the Jiangsu provincial government, was the biggest-ever, with nearly 10,000 competitors representing 46 provinces, regions and industries, participating in over 350 events in 32 sports. The Games successfully culminated at the end of October 2005. The Games took place at the Nanjing Sports Centre, one of the biggest sports projects in Asia. Buildings in the complex include: a 60,000 seat stadium, an 11,000 seat indoor arena, an Olympic standard aquatic centre, a 20 court tennis centre and outdoor facilities for hockey, baseball and basketball. Athletes are now using the facility and training hard in preparation for the Olympic Games in 2008. The Olympic Centre chose the same floor used by the NBA Houston Rockets, so the next time that Yao Ming plays in Nanjing Sports Complex, he’ll feel just like he’s "at home". A typical NBA floor can be installed or removed in just a couple of hours. The floor at Nanjing is expected to be able to installed or removed in one day, allowing the sports complex to use the facility for Basketball, Ice Hockey, and team handball tournaments.
