Nikea Olympic Hall Features Tough Pulastic Surface

Cincinnati, Ohio, August 27, 2004 – The Nikea Indoor Hall, located in the Nikea district west of Athens, is considered to be the premier weightlifting arena in the world. Dedicated in December of 2003 for the "Tofalos-Kakousis" IWF Grand Prix, the hall seats just over 5,000 spectators. The hall will host all weightlifting events held in conjunction with the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece. Following the Olympics, the hall will be used for conventions, sporting events and other multipurpose events.

The Competition Hall, covering a total of 24,000 square meters, has a main arena with a capacity of 5,000 spectators, as well as warm-up halls, two large and four smaller training halls, rest areas, changing rooms, a medical and physical therapy center, sauna and massage rooms, special areas for coaches and referees. The hall will also serve as executive offices for the International Weightlifting Federation and Hellenic Weightlifting Federation officials.

Located in the main hall of the Nikea Hall is a versatile floor system marketed by Robbins in North America as Pulastic SF-111. This tough, durable coating was chosen to cover the arena floor based on its durability, wear resistance, and color options. Pulastic SF-111 is a great choice for multi-use areas, hallways, dressing rooms and treatment rooms seeking the hygienic benefits of a seamless floor. Easily cleaned with soap and water, Pulastic SF-111 provides a monolithic high performance floor for a multitude of applications.
