Robbins applies sustainable
principles to all our business
practices. From research and design,
procurement, distribution and installation
of products and services worldwide,
we strive to conserve resources,
responsively use lumber and other
raw materials, incorporate recycled
materials, and reduce our impact
on the environment within the context
and conscience of our business.
Robbins is fundamentally vested
in the sustainable principles that
have long driven the forest products
industries. We advocate the renewal
and improvement of the environment
through active and meaningful
participation in key industry organizations
supporting reforestation and a
sustainable ecology. We work only
with ecologically responsible suppliers.
We endeavor to influence our suppliers
to provide our materials in an environmentally
responsible way consistent
with sound business practices.
Robbins
has championed exacting
prefinished technology
to dramatically reduce
and eliminate volatile
organic compounds (VOC)
emissions.
Through investments that reduce machining
tolerances, and thus reduce air-born particles
at the job-site.
Through our production process, we recover
and recycle waste into beneficial materials
used in the manufacture of other wood products.
Sawdust waste is converted into electricity,
which is, in turn, used to power our plants.
Last year alone, Robbins floors used the
equivalent of some 17 truckloads of used
tires otherwise destined for landfills,
for use in subfloor pad components.
Robbins synthetic products include the
industry's most advanced zero-mercury polyurethane
technology. |

Our state-of-the-art
manufacturing technologies maximize
the utilization of our raw materials,
reducing the impact on the environment.
At the foundation of our product
development has been a continuous
course of improvement to increase
product quality and performance
while minimizing raw materials
used in sourcing, manufacture
and installation.
We educate and encourage
the participation of our employees,
customers and business associates
in ecological awareness and education.
